एवं निवसतस्तस्य सुतलेऽपि शतक्रतोः । वत्सरा बहवो ह्यासंस्तदा बुद्धिमकल्पयत् । संस्मृत्य वचनं विष्णोर्विमृश्य च पुनःपुनः
evaṃ nivasatastasya sutale'pi śatakratoḥ | vatsarā bahavo hyāsaṃstadā buddhimakalpayat | saṃsmṛtya vacanaṃ viṣṇorvimṛśya ca punaḥpunaḥ
このようにして—たとえスータラにあっても—シャタクラトゥ（インドラ）には幾年もの歳月が過ぎ去った。そこで彼は策をめぐらし、ヴィシュヌの御言葉を想起しては、幾度も幾度も熟考した。
