दाक्षायण्या कृतं यच्च न दृष्टं किं त्वयानघ । त्वं चापि यज्ञे दक्षस्य अवदानार्थमागतः । अवदानं प्रयच्छामि तव चापि महाभूज
dākṣāyaṇyā kṛtaṃ yacca na dṛṣṭaṃ kiṃ tvayānagha | tvaṃ cāpi yajñe dakṣasya avadānārthamāgataḥ | avadānaṃ prayacchāmi tava cāpi mahābhūja
罪なき者よ、ダクシャーヤニー（サティー）がなしたことを見なかったのか。汝もまたダクシャの祭祀に、定められた分け前を求めて来たのだ。われは汝にもその分を授けよう、強大なる腕の者よ。
