Transliteration

bṛhaspatiruvāca | sāmapūrvaṃ smṛtā nītiścaturaṃgāmanīkinīm | jigīṣatāṃ suraśreṣṭha sthitireṣā sanātanī

Translation

ブリハスパティは言った。「神々の中の最勝者よ、勝利を求める者の政道は、まずサーマ（和解・懐柔）から始め、四種の軍に対して用いると伝えられている。これは征服を望む者のための、永遠にして古来の法である。」
