महीदोहे महानंदसंदोहे विश्वमोहिनि । जातासि सरितां राज्ञि पापं हर महीद्रवे । इत्यर्घ्यमंत्रः
mahīdohe mahānaṃdasaṃdohe viśvamohini | jātāsi saritāṃ rājñi pāpaṃ hara mahīdrave | ityarghyamaṃtraḥ
「大地を乳搾りして生まれし女神よ、偉大なる歓喜の宝蔵、諸世界を惑わす者よ。河川の女王よ、汝は現れ出でたり—流れゆくマヒー(Mahī)よ、罪を除き給え。」—これがアルギャ供水の真言(arghya-mantra)である。

Scene: A pilgrim at dawn stands at the river’s mouth where fresh water meets the sea, offering arghya with cupped hands to the personified goddess Mahī rising from the waters, surrounded by lotuses and shimmering foam.
Approaching the river as a divine mother and offering arghya with prayer is taught as a means of pāpa-kṣaya (sin-removal).
