skaṃda uvāca | kathayāmi mahābuddhe kṛcchrādīni tavāgrataḥ | yāni kṛtvātra manujo dehaśuddhiṃ labhetparām
Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Agastya
Scene: Skanda begins a formal exposition, gesturing as if enumerating vow-steps; Agastya listens. The setting suggests Kāśī’s sacred ambience—river, ghāṭa, and a Śiva shrine—signifying purification through discipline.
Purification is attainable through properly defined observances taught by authoritative tradition.
As part of Kāśī Khaṇḍa, the instruction is framed within the dharmic atmosphere of Kāśī (Vārāṇasī).
Skanda announces instruction on Kṛcchra and allied prāyaścittas aimed at deha-śuddhi.
