डमड्डमरुकव्यग्र हस्ताग्रः खंडचंद्रभृत् । तांडवाडंबररुचिः सर्वामंगल चेष्टितः
ḍamaḍḍamarukavyagra hastāgraḥ khaṃḍacaṃdrabhṛt | tāṃḍavāḍaṃbararuciḥ sarvāmaṃgala ceṣṭitaḥ
御手は忙しくḍamaru(小鼓)を打ち、御額には三日月を戴く。荘厳なるタाण्डヴァの輝きに照り映え、その一挙手一投足はあらゆる吉祥の源となる。
A householder/elder (contextual; praising Śiva’s attributes)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: Śiva mid-tāṇḍava: one hand vigorously sounding the ḍamaru, crescent moon shining on his matted locks, body radiant with the flourish of dance; the air itself feels auspicious.
Śiva’s cosmic dance and symbols (ḍamaru, crescent moon) signify that the divine governs and transforms all states into auspiciousness.
The passage belongs to the Kāśīkhaṇḍa, celebrating Kāśī as the theatre of Śiva’s supreme presence.
No direct ritual instruction appears; the verse functions as praise (stuti) through iconographic description.
