दुर्गोवाच । यः स्तोष्यति तु मां भक्त्या नरः स्तुत्यानया शुचिः । तस्याहं नाशयिष्यामि विपदं च पदे पदे
durgovāca | yaḥ stoṣyati tu māṃ bhaktyā naraḥ stutyānayā śuciḥ | tasyāhaṃ nāśayiṣyāmi vipadaṃ ca pade pade
ドゥルガーは言った。「清らかな者がこの讃歌によって信愛をもって我を讃えるなら、その者の災厄を、歩みごとに、幾度も幾度も我は滅する。」
Durgā
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devas (immediate audience); devotees (intended beneficiaries)
Scene: Devi speaks as a compassionate protector; behind her, symbolic imagery of shattered obstacles and a clear path, indicating calamities removed at every step for the devotee.
Devotion joined with inner purity is presented as a living protection—Devī actively removes obstacles from the devotee’s path.
While the promise is universal, it is taught within the Kāśīkhaṇḍa tradition of Kāśī, reinforcing Kāśī’s role as a seat of powerful stotra-practice.
Chant this specific stuti with bhakti and śuci (purity) to gain ongoing protection from calamities.
