yāṃyāṃ diśaṃ samabhyeti soyaṃ duḥsaha dānavaḥ | sāsā samī bhavedasya sādhvasādiva digdhruvam
Skanda (deduced)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis of Naimiṣāraṇya (frame typical)
Scene: A sweeping scene where the demon’s approach makes the very horizons feel compressed; the four quarters darken, with frightened beings and dikpāla-like figures recoiling.
Fear spreads wherever adharma advances, but the Purāṇic arc points toward restoration through divine agency.
The Kāśīkhaṇḍa frames the episode within Kāśī, though this verse does not praise a particular tīrtha.
