नमस्त्रैलोक्यकाम्याय कामांगदहनाय च । नमो शेषविशेषाय नमः शेषांगदाय ते
namastrailokyakāmyāya kāmāṃgadahanāya ca | namo śeṣaviśeṣāya namaḥ śeṣāṃgadāya te
三界において希い求められる汝に礼拝し、またカーマの身を焼き尽くした汝に礼拝する。余りと差別を超えた御主に礼拝し、そして「余恩」—最後の救いの恩寵—を授ける汝に礼拝する。
Jaigīṣavya
Tirtha: Avimukta-Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and ṛṣis (typical frame) / pilgrims (implied)
Scene: A devotee in Kāśī offers folded hands before a radiant Śiva-liṅga; behind, the subtle image of Kāma reduced to ash, signifying desire’s dissolution; Śiva’s presence is both transcendent and compassionate.
Śiva burns desire at its root and is sought by all worlds; liberation comes through His purifying power and grace.
The Kāśīkhaṇḍa context ties this praise to Kāśī, where desire is transcended through Śiva’s presence.
No explicit ritual; the verse is a stotra suitable for Kāma-dahana themed worship and Śiva-japa.
