पुरी संयमनी सेयमतीव शुभलक्षणा । आकर्ण्य यस्य नामापि पापिनोऽतीव बिभ्यति
purī saṃyamanī seyamatīva śubhalakṣaṇā | ākarṇya yasya nāmāpi pāpino'tīva bibhyati
この都サンヤマニー(Saṃyamanī)は、まことにきわめて吉祥の相を備えている。だがその名を耳にするだけで、罪ある者は大いに恐れおののく。
Śivaśarmā (Vipra)
Tirtha: Saṃyamanī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A radiant, auspicious city-gate with dharma-symbols; shadowy figures (sinners) recoil merely upon hearing its name, while the meritorious walk fearlessly toward the light.
Conscience and karmic accountability create fear for the sinful, while the dharmic order itself remains auspicious.
The verse names Saṃyamanī (Yama’s city); the overarching text remains within Kāśīkhaṇḍa’s Kāśī Māhātmya frame.
None; it contrasts moral states (pāpa vs. dharma) through reaction to sacred/authoritative realms.
