balipātrakare vipre yadyanyotithirāgataḥ | adattvā taṃ baliṃ tasmai yathāśaktyānnamarpayet
バリ供物の器を婆羅門が手にしている時に、別の客が来たなら、そのバリを彼に与えてはならない。代わりに、力の及ぶ限りの食を供して差し上げよ。
Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A brāhmaṇa holds a bali-vessel ready for offering; at that moment another guest arrives. The householder respectfully refrains from giving the bali to the guest and instead brings separate food to honor him.
Dharma requires both ritual correctness and compassion: keep offerings properly assigned, yet feed the guest generously within means.
As part of Kāśīkhaṇḍa, the verse reflects the disciplined household dharma celebrated in sacred Kāśī.
Do not redirect the bali offering; instead provide separate anna (food) to the arriving atithi according to capacity.
