मतिमद्भ्यो नराः श्रेष्ठास्तेभ्यः श्रेष्ठास्तु वाडवाः । विप्रेभ्योपि च विद्वांसो विद्वद्भ्यः कृतबुद्धयः
matimadbhyo narāḥ śreṣṭhāstebhyaḥ śreṣṭhāstu vāḍavāḥ | viprebhyopi ca vidvāṃso vidvadbhyaḥ kṛtabuddhayaḥ
知ある者の中では人間が勝れ、さらにその上には戒めを保ち鍛えられた者がいる。ブラーフマナの中でさえ学識ある者は高く、学識ある者よりも、悟りの理解が円熟し揺るがぬ者がさらに高い。
