देवत्वादशुभं किंचिद्देवलोके न विद्यते । दृष्ट्वापि सर्वदेवेशं यन्मुक्तिं न लभामहे
devatvādaśubhaṃ kiṃciddevaloke na vidyate | dṛṣṭvāpi sarvadeveśaṃ yanmuktiṃ na labhāmahe
神々の世界には、その神性ゆえ不吉なるものは何一つない。しかれども、万神の主を拝してなお解脱を得られぬ—これこそ我らの悲しみである。
Devas (reflecting on the rarity of mokṣa even among celestials)
Tirtha: Kāśī / Avimukta (continuing Śiva-darśana)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Kāśīkhaṇḍa frame listener(s)
Scene: Celestial beings confess: ‘In devaloka nothing inauspicious exists, yet after seeing the Lord of all gods we still do not gain liberation—this is our grief’; their luminous forms are shaded by existential sorrow before Śiva’s calm presence.
Even refined heavenly existence is not the final aim; liberation is distinct and requires deeper grace and realization.
Kāśī is the implied liberating field in Kāśīkhaṇḍa, where Śiva’s presence is central to mokṣa.
None directly; it underscores the priority of seeking mukti rather than merely auspicious states.
