Vyāsa
Listener: Disciple addressed as 'vatsa'
Scene: A prosperous yet restrained household scene: the householder gives food to guests, feeds cows, offers to fire, and supports family; the ‘world’ is symbolized by dependents—students, ascetics, animals, and the poor—being nourished.
The householder’s dharma is celebrated as world-sustaining; responsible life and generosity become a path to spiritual and worldly fulfillment.
No site is mentioned; the verse praises the āśrama system, especially gārhasthya.
No specific rite is prescribed here; it states the principle that gṛhastha duties nourish society and lead to desired attainments.
