suprasannaḥ suraśreṣṭhaḥ kṛpālurvaradāyakaḥ | tadā hṛṣṭamanā devo devendramidamūcivān
そのとき神は――大いに満悦し、天のうち最勝にして、慈悲深く、恩寵を授ける御方――心より歓喜し、デーヴェーンドラ(インドラ)に次のように告げた。
Narrator (contextual Purāṇic narrator)
Tirtha: Dharmāraṇya
Type: kshetra
Scene: Śiva, serene and radiant, becomes pleased and turns toward Indra with a compassionate, boon-giving gaze; a divine court/forest-ashram ambience suggests Dharmāraṇya’s sanctity.
Divine grace arises from the Lord’s compassion; sincere approach to Śiva opens the door to boons and relief from suffering.
Dharmāraṇya (the sacred ‘Forest of Dharma’), the setting for Indra’s purification narrative.
No explicit rite is stated in this verse; it introduces Śiva’s boon-giving response that leads to later instructions.
