न दुर्जनसमाकीर्णे न शूद्रश्वापदावृते । देशे न द्यूतसदने वदेत्पुण्यकथां सुधीः
na durjanasamākīrṇe na śūdraśvāpadāvṛte | deśe na dyūtasadane vadetpuṇyakathāṃ sudhīḥ
賢者は、悪人で満ちた場所でも、賤民や野獣がはびこる地でも、また賭博場でも、功徳ある聖なる物語を語ってはならない。
