अतीतं वर्तमानं च स्मरामि च सृजाम्यहम् । तैर्विना चाहमेकस्तु मूकोऽधो जडवत्सदा
atītaṃ vartamānaṃ ca smarāmi ca sṛjāmyaham | tairvinā cāhamekastu mūko'dho jaḍavatsadā
我は過去と現在を想起し、また創造を生み出す。だがそれら（ヴェーダ）なくしては、我ひとり常に口を閉ざし、衰え、鈍くなる――まるで無感覚の者のように。
