Sthala Purana: This verse is procedural (vidhi) for preparing sanctified containers/offerings with tīrtha-water and auspicious substances; it is not tied to a specific Jyotirliṅga narrative in this passage.
Significance: General tīrtha-water use: purifies the worshipper and offerings, supporting eligibility (adhikāra) for Śiva-pūjā and receptivity to grace (anugraha).
It teaches that Shaiva worship is not merely external: sanctifying the act with tirtha-water, mantra, and proper vidhi aligns the devotee’s intention (bhakti) with disciplined practice, making the offering a purified channel toward Shiva’s grace.
The verse emphasizes mantra and ritual order while preparing sacred items, which is characteristic of Saguna Shiva worship—approaching Shiva through the Linga with consecrated materials and prescribed steps to support focused devotion.
Prepare and consecrate worship-items by filling with tirtha-water, binding with a thread as instructed, placing auspicious substances, and performing mantra-recitation throughout—maintaining mindful attention to the prescribed procedure.
