The verse emphasizes purification through dharmic saṃskāras—outer discipline that supports inner fitness for Shiva’s grace, guiding the seeker toward steadiness and spiritual maturity.
By completing prescribed rites and living in ritual purity, the devotee becomes qualified for orderly Shiva-upāsanā; Saguna worship of the Linga is strengthened when conduct, vows, and sacraments align with dharma.
It points to performing life-cycle sacraments (like cūḍākaraṇa and upanayana) and completing major rites properly; as a Shaiva takeaway, such discipline is typically paired with daily Shiva worship, mantra-japa (e.g., Pañcākṣarī), and purity observances.
