Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Type: stotra
This verse presents Shiva’s Saguna (with attributes) meditation-form: the three eyes signify transcendent knowledge that burns ignorance, while the crescent and matted locks indicate mastery over time and yogic power—guiding the devotee from devotion (bhakti) toward liberation (moksha) under Pati (the Lord).
While the Linga points to Shiva’s Nirguna reality beyond form, this description supports Saguna upasana—visual contemplation of Shiva’s auspicious marks—helping the mind become one-pointed and fit to realize the Linga’s formless truth.
Practice dhyana by visualizing this three-eyed, crescent-crested Shiva while repeating the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya); offer red flowers or red cloth as a devotional upachara when appropriate to the vrata or pūjā tradition.
