It declares the Shaiva Siddhanta principle of Pati: Shiva is the supreme Lord beyond all limiting attributes, the ultimate source behind every causal chain, and the highest authority over all governing powers.
While Shiva is said to be beyond any limiting 'liṅga' as a boundary-mark, devotees approach the same transcendent Lord through the sacred Śiva-liṅga as a gracious, worshipful manifestation (saguna support) leading the mind toward the attributeless Reality.
Meditate on Shiva as 'kāraṇaṃ kāraṇānām' while repeating the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offering worship to the Śiva-liṅga as the doorway to realizing the Lord beyond all limitation.
