ある者たちは、理解において目覚めていながらも生を恐れる。ゆえに彼らは護りを求めてこのルドラ(Rudra)に帰依し、安寧を授ける吉祥にして慈恵深い右方(南方)の相にすがる。

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
Type: stotra
Role: nurturing
It highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) in Rudra as the remedy for fear of saṃsāra—entrusting oneself to Shiva (Pati) for protection and inner well-being.
The verse emphasizes approaching Rudra in a gracious, protective aspect—aligning with Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga worship) where the devotee seeks shelter, peace, and liberation through devotion.
Practice surrender through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and contemplative refuge in Rudra as protector; this attitude is the core discipline implied, supported by Shaiva observances like bhasma and Rudraksha where followed.
