अनुग्रह-स्वातन्त्र्य-प्रमाणविचारः | Inquiry into Pramāṇa, Divine Autonomy, and Grace
यथाग्निमानयेत्युक्ते ज्वलत्काष्ठादृते स्वयम् । नाग्निरानीयते तद्वत्पूज्यो मूर्त्यात्मना शिवः
yathāgnimānayetyukte jvalatkāṣṭhādṛte svayam | nāgnirānīyate tadvatpūjyo mūrtyātmanā śivaḥ
「火を持って来い」と言われても、燃える薪を離れて火そのものだけを持ち来ることはできない。同様に、真実には一切の属性を超えるシヴァも、信愛と悟りのために、顕現したムールティ（mūrti）として礼拝されるべきである。
