It teaches that births in animal realms, hellish suffering, or even exalted heavenly ranks are all temporary results of karma; true freedom is not secured by status, but by release from karmic bondage through turning toward Shiva (Pati) beyond merit and demerit.
By showing the impermanence of all acquired ‘padas’ (states), it directs the seeker to take refuge in Saguna Shiva—worship of the Linga as a steady support—so devotion and grace lead beyond cyclical rises and falls caused by karma.
Cultivate vairagya and steady japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with simple Linga-puja; the aim is not heavenly reward but purification of pasha (bondage) and Shiva-oriented liberation.
