वीरभद्रक्रोधशमनं देवस्तुतिश्च
Pacification of Vīrabhadra and the Gods’ Hymn
महादेव उवाच । माभैष्ट त्रिदशास्सर्वे यूयं वै मामिकाः प्रजाः । अनुग्रहार्थमेवेह धृतो दंडः कृपालुना
mahādeva uvāca | mābhaiṣṭa tridaśāssarve yūyaṃ vai māmikāḥ prajāḥ | anugrahārthameveha dhṛto daṃḍaḥ kṛpālunā
マハーデーヴァは告げた。「恐れるな、諸天よ。汝らはまことに我が民である。この懲戒の杖を、慈悲なる我は、ただ恩寵を授けるためにここで執ったのだ。」
Lord Shiva (Mahadeva)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Mantra: mābhaiṣṭa (abhaya-vākya; not a fixed mantra)
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It teaches that Śiva, the Pati (Lord), governs even through discipline, and that His “punishment” is ultimately an expression of anugraha—corrective grace meant to remove fear, ignorance, and binding pasha.
It highlights Saguna Śiva as a compassionate protector and ruler: devotees approach the Liṅga not in fear of wrath, but with trust that even stern divine action is for purification and upliftment.
A practical takeaway is fearlessness through surrender: steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a prayer for anugraha, accepting life’s corrections as Śiva’s guidance toward inner purity.
