Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Śravaṇa (devotional listening) to Śiva-Śakti’s sarga-līlā is said to increase puṇya and orient the listener toward right understanding that culminates in Śiva’s anugraha.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
The verse praises śravaṇa (devout listening) of the Purāṇic teaching as puṇya-vardhaka—merit-increasing—and frames creation as a manifestation of Devī’s Śakti, guiding the seeker to see the world as dependent on the Divine Power under Shiva’s lordship.
By presenting manifestation as arising from Śakti, the verse supports Saguna worship where Shiva is adored together with His inseparable Power; the Liṅga is revered as the stable sign of Pati (Shiva) while the universe of beings is understood as Śakti’s unfolding.
It emphasizes śravaṇa—listening to Shiva Purana recitation with faith—as a meritorious practice; devotees may pair this with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) while contemplating creation as Śiva-Śakti’s sacred manifestation.
