Cosmic Event: Pralaya-imagery: dissolution through the ‘eater of oblations’ (fire) arising from divine glance/withdrawal.
It presents Shiva (Pati) as the supreme causal Lord whose mere glance governs creation and dissolution; liberation arises when the soul recognizes that worldly power and pleasure are ultimately mastered by Shiva’s grace, not by the ego.
The verse praises Shiva’s active sovereignty (Saguna aspect) through imagery of glance and cosmic functions; Linga-worship is the ritual focus through which devotees approach that same Lord who sustains, expands, and dissolves the cosmos.
Cultivate detachment and surrender while repeating the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and meditate on Shiva as the inner governor whose glance burns bonds (pāśa) like fire consumes offerings.
