jaya viśvajaganmātarjaya viśvajaganmaye | jaya viśvajagaddhātri jaya viśvajagatsakhi
勝利あれ、全宇宙の母よ。勝利あれ、この一切に遍満し、この宇宙そのものとなる御方よ。勝利あれ、世界を支える御方よ。勝利あれ、世の友にして親しく導く御方よ。
Suta Goswami (narrating the hymn of praise within the Vāyavīyasaṃhitā context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Mantra: जय विश्वजगन्मातर्जय विश्वजगन्मये । जय विश्वजगद्धात्रि जय विश्वजगत्सखि
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It praises the Divine Mother as the universe’s source, pervading presence, sustainer, and compassionate companion—pointing to Shakti as the power through which the Lord’s grace becomes accessible to the bound soul (paśu) in Shaiva understanding.
In Saguna worship, Shiva is adored with Shakti as inseparable; this verse supports the devotional approach where the Linga is honored along with the Goddess as the sustaining, world-pervading power—emphasizing unity of Shiva (Pati) and Shakti in worship.
A simple practice is stuti-japa: recite this verse as praise before or after Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) japa, mentally contemplating the Mother as all-pervading support and friend, cultivating surrender (śaraṇāgati) and steadiness in bhakti.
