The verse praises the ideal Shaiva servant who becomes inwardly aligned with Shiva—sharing His orientation, reflecting His qualities through conduct, and living as an instrument of Shiva’s will, which is central to Shaiva Siddhanta’s path of devotion and grace.
Saguna worship trains the devotee to contemplate Shiva’s form and attributes; this verse describes the fruit of such devotion—steadfast service, disciplined behavior, and obedience to Shiva’s injunctions, which are integral to Linga-centered Shaiva practice.
It suggests disciplined observance of Shiva’s ājñā—regular japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), worship of the Linga with humility, and living conduct (ācāra) consistent with Shaiva vows, so one’s actions become service to Shiva.
