It teaches that reverence to Shaiva revelation—preserving it, keeping it in one’s home, and honoring it ritually—invites Shiva’s grace, aligning worldly aims (dharma-artha-kama) toward the highest good, liberation.
Just as the Linga is worshipped as a saguna support for devotion, the written Shiva Purana is treated as a sacred embodiment of Shiva’s teaching; honoring it is a form of Shiva-bhakti that leads to auspicious results.
Keep the scripture clean and respectfully placed, and perform vidhivat pūjā—such as offering flowers, incense, lamp, and salutations—while remembering Shiva and reciting his names/mantras (e.g., the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
