Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
शुक्लायान्तु तृतीयायामेवं श्रावणभाद्रयोः । यो व्रतं कुरुतेऽम्बायाः पूजनं च यथाविधि
śuklāyāntu tṛtīyāyāmevaṃ śrāvaṇabhādrayoḥ | yo vrataṃ kurute'mbāyāḥ pūjanaṃ ca yathāvidhi
しかし白分(明るい半月)の第三日、すなわちシュラーヴァナ月とバードラパダ月において、アンバーのためにヴラタを受け、定められた作法のとおりに女神を供養する者は、その行の約束された果報を得る。
Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva Purana teachings to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a specific liṅga-site; it prescribes vrata-kāla (Śukla Tṛtīyā in Śrāvaṇa–Bhādrapada) for Ambā’s worship.
Significance: Highlights calendrical precision (tithi-māsa) as a means to intensify merit and grace in Devī-upāsanā within a Śaiva frame.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It emphasizes disciplined devotion (vrata) joined with correct worship (yathāvidhi) to Ambā/Umā, showing that sincere, scripturally-aligned practice refines the devotee’s śakti and steadies the path toward Shiva’s grace.
In Shaiva tradition, Umā is inseparable from Shiva; worship of Umā in prescribed times supports saguna-upāsanā and harmonizes devotion to the divine couple, which culminates in the same Shaiva goal—Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
Observe a vrata on Śukla Tṛtīyā in Śrāvaṇa/Bhādrapada and perform Ambā’s pūjā exactly as enjoined—typically including purity, offerings, mantra-japa, and disciplined conduct for the vow-period.
