It highlights the tension between worldly duty (pravṛtti—continuing lineage) and the pull toward liberation (nivṛtti—renunciation). Dakṣa’s anger shows how attachment becomes pāśa (bondage), while Nārada represents the impulse toward mokṣa-oriented detachment.
Though the verse is narrative, its Shaiva Siddhanta thrust is that true devotion to Saguna Shiva (as the compassionate Pati) matures into dispassion. When the mind turns from progeny-and-status to Shiva-bhakti, the seeker moves from bondage toward Shiva’s grace.
A practical takeaway is to pacify krodha (anger) through Shiva-upāsanā—daily japa of the Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and contemplation on detachment, cultivating calm before acting or speaking harshly.
