Svagati-varṇana
Description of the Supreme State / One’s True Attainment
तस्मात्ते परितुष्टोऽस्मि वरं वरय सुव्रत । दुर्लभं सर्वदेवेषु नादेयं विद्यते तव
tasmātte parituṣṭo'smi varaṃ varaya suvrata | durlabhaṃ sarvadeveṣu nādeyaṃ vidyate tava
「ゆえに我は汝に大いに満足した、善き誓戒を守る堅固なる者よ。望む恩寵を選べ。諸神の中にあっても、汝に与え得ぬほど稀なるものは何一つない。」
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It highlights that when Shiva is truly pleased, His grace removes scarcity—divine favor surpasses even the reach of the devas, making spiritual and worldly attainments accessible through steadfast vow and devotion.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s compassionate responsiveness: through worship, austerity, and vowed discipline, the devotee draws near to Shiva’s personal grace, which then manifests as boon-bestowal and protection.
The implied practice is niyama and tapas with bhakti—regular Shiva worship with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), supported by traditional Shaiva aids like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa.
