Gajāsura’s Austerities and the Disturbance of the Worlds
सनत्कुमार उवाच । इति संप्रार्थितो देवैर्भक्तरक्षणतत्परः । तत्राऽऽजगाम सोरं तद्वधकामनया हरः
sanatkumāra uvāca | iti saṃprārthito devairbhaktarakṣaṇatatparaḥ | tatrā''jagāma soraṃ tadvadhakāmanayā haraḥ
サナトクマーラは言った。「このように神々に懇願され、信奉者を守護することに専心するハラ(シヴァ)は、ソーラを討たんとの決意をもって、そこへ赴いた。」
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: liberating
It highlights Śiva as Bhakta-rakṣaka—the Lord who responds to sincere prayer and safeguards devotees by removing the source of harm, even through decisive action against adharma.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva (Hara) as an active, compassionate protector who intervenes in history; Linga worship trains the devotee to surrender to this same Lord as the ever-present refuge.
A practical takeaway is bhakti with śaraṇāgati (surrender): daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” paired with prayer for protection and inner purification before facing obstacles.
