kālo daivaṃ karma jīvassvabhāvo dravyameva ca | kṣetraṃ ca prāṇa ātmā ca vikārastatsamūhakaḥ

It lists the main factors that bind and shape embodied life—time, destiny, karma, nature, and material conditions—so the seeker recognizes the scope of bondage (pāśa) and turns toward Shiva (Pati) for liberation.
By mapping the components of worldly experience, the verse implies that all aggregates and their changes are within Shiva’s governance; Linga worship trains the mind to see the mutable field (kṣetra) as dependent, and to seek the unchanging Lord who grants grace beyond karma.
Contemplate these factors as impermanent and conditioned, then steady the mind in Shiva through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and disciplined breath-awareness (prāṇa-smarana) as support for inner detachment.
