Bāṇāsura Receives Gaṇapatya; Genealogical Prelude
तस्या रमणसंकल्पं विज्ञाय गिरिजा ततः । उवाच सर्वविज्ञाना सर्वान्तर्यामिनी शिवा
tasyā ramaṇasaṃkalpaṃ vijñāya girijā tataḥ | uvāca sarvavijñānā sarvāntaryāminī śivā
そのときギリジャーは、彼女の愛しき者に関する意図を見抜き、語り始めた—一切を知り、万有に内在し、あらゆる心の内に統べる者として宿るシヴァーが。
Suta Goswami (narrating); the verse introduces Girijā/Śivā as the one who speaks next
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights Śivā (Girijā) as sarvāntaryāminī—the indwelling divine awareness that knows the devotee’s intention from within, teaching that Grace responds to inner resolve, not merely external action.
While Linga worship is an outer support (saguṇa-upāsanā), this verse stresses the inner presence of Śiva-Śakti as antaryāmin, showing that true worship culminates in inward recognition of the Lord dwelling in all.
A practical takeaway is inward japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with contemplation of Śiva as antaryāmin in the heart, aligning one’s saṅkalpa (intention) before any pūjā.
