それは劫滅(プララヤ)の火の燃えさかる頂のごとく、真昼の太陽が百万集まったかのよう—抗しがたく、攻め崩せぬもの。決して空しくならず、狙いを外さず敵を打ち倒した。
Suta Goswami (narrating the battle account to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Cosmic Event: mahapralaya
The verse uses pralaya-fire and “a million suns” imagery to convey invincible divine potency—symbolizing how Shiva’s śakti destroys not only outer foes but also inner enemies like ignorance, fear, and ego, making the soul fit for liberation.
Though Shiva is ultimately nirguṇa, devotees approach Him as saguna—the Lord whose power acts decisively in the world. Remembering such irresistible might while worshipping the Śiva-liṅga strengthens faith that Shiva’s grace removes obstacles and defeats negativity.
Contemplate Shiva’s all-consuming, purifying power while chanting the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”); offer bhasma/Tripuṇḍra with the intent that inner hostility (vaira) be burned away, and maintain steady japa as the “unfailing” means.
