शङ्खचूडदूतागमनम् — The Arrival of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Envoy
and Praise of Śiva
सनत्कुमार उवाच । इत्येतद्वचनं श्रुत्वा संप्रहस्य त्रिलोचनः । यथोचितं च मधुरमुवाच दानवेश्वरम्
sanatkumāra uvāca | ityetadvacanaṃ śrutvā saṃprahasya trilocanaḥ | yathocitaṃ ca madhuramuvāca dānaveśvaram
サナトクマーラは言った。これらの言葉を聞くと、三つ目の主(シヴァ)はやさしく微笑み、ついでダーナヴァの王に、時にかなった、しかも甘美な調子で語りかけた。
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights Śiva’s siddhānta-consistent nature as Pati (the Lord): even in conflict, He remains inwardly serene and outwardly measured—responding with appropriate, dharmic, and compassionate speech rather than agitation.
The verse portrays Saguna Śiva’s accessible character—His gentle smile and sweet, fitting words—encouraging devotees to approach Him through personal devotion (bhakti) and reverent worship, as one would before the Śiva-liṅga.
Adopt “yathocita-madhura vāk” (appropriate, sweet speech) as a vrata-like discipline during japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), cultivating calmness and compassion as an offering to Śiva.
