sudarśanākhyaṃ yaccakraṃ padāṃguṣṭhavinirmitam | jagrāha tatkare rudrastena haṃtuṃ samudyataḥ
そのときルドラは、足の親指より成った「スダルシャナ」と名づける円盤を御手に取り、これを高く掲げて、敵を討たんと備えられた。
Sūta Gosvāmin
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Role: destructive
It portrays Rudra as Pati—the supreme Lord who wields divine power to remove adharma; in Shaiva Siddhanta this reflects grace through protection and the decisive cutting of bondage when the Lord wills.
Though the Liṅga represents the transcendent, this verse highlights Saguna Śiva—Rudra with form and weapon—showing that the same absolute reality becomes accessible as a protecting, action-taking Lord for devotees.
Contemplate Rudra as the inner protector who destroys obstacles to dharma; recite the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady focus, visualizing the Lord’s grace cutting through fear and bondage.
