ज्ञात्वा दैत्यहृतं द्रोणं धिषणो भयविह्वलः । आगत्य देवान्प्रोवाच जीवो व्याकुलमानसः
jñātvā daityahṛtaṃ droṇaṃ dhiṣaṇo bhayavihvalaḥ | āgatya devānprovāca jīvo vyākulamānasaḥ

It highlights a Shaiva ethical insight: when worldly supports are “taken away” and fear arises, the jīva’s agitation becomes evident—prompting one to seek higher refuge and right counsel, ultimately fulfilled in Shiva as the steadying Pati (Lord) beyond changing circumstances.
In the Yuddhakāṇḍa setting, the Devas repeatedly turn toward divine protection; for devotees, this is mirrored by approaching Saguna Shiva through Linga-worship—seeking stability, protection, and restoration of dharma when the mind is disturbed by crisis.
A practical takeaway is to calm fear through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steadying the mind with Tripuṇḍra-bhasma remembrance of impermanence; this aligns the agitated jīva toward Shiva-centered composure.
