शिवतेजसः समुद्रे बालरूपप्रादुर्भावः (Śiva’s Tejas Manifesting as a Child in the Ocean)
देवा ऊचुः । लोकाधीश सुराधीश भयन्नस्समुपस्थितम् । तन्नाशय महायोगिञ्जातोयं ह्यद्भुतो रवः
devā ūcuḥ | lokādhīśa surādhīśa bhayannassamupasthitam | tannāśaya mahāyogiñjātoyaṃ hyadbhuto ravaḥ
諸天は言った。「おお、諸世界の主、神々の主よ。恐れが我らに迫り、眼前に立っております。大いなるヨーギンよ、これを払い給え――まことに、この驚くべき咆哮が起こったのです。」
The Devas (celestial gods)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
It portrays the Devas taking śaraṇāgati (refuge) in Shiva as Lokādhiśa and Mahāyogin, showing that fear and ominous disturbances are pacified by turning to the supreme Lord who governs and harmonizes all forces.
The Devas address Shiva in personal, Saguna terms—Lord of worlds and gods—mirroring how devotees approach the Śiva-liṅga as the accessible form of the transcendent Pati who removes भय (fear) and restores cosmic order.
A practical takeaway is protective japa and surrender—reciting the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady breath, optionally with vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa, praying for fearlessness and inner steadiness.
