Description of the Burning of Tripura
भो भो न यावद्भगवन्नर्चितोऽसौ विनायकः । पुराणि जगदीशेश सांप्रतं न हनिष्यति
bho bho na yāvadbhagavannarcito'sau vināyakaḥ | purāṇi jagadīśeśa sāṃprataṃ na haniṣyati
「おお、おお主よ——尊ぶべきヴィナーヤカが正しく供養されぬかぎり、彼は今なお旧き定めを破壊しない。宇宙の主よ、至上のイーシャよ!」
A deity/attendant addressing Lord Śiva during the Yuddhakhaṇḍa narrative (inferred from direct vocatives “jagadīśeśa” and the battle-context warning).
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Īśāna
The verse emphasizes dharmic order in worship: obstacles to sacred action are removed when Vināyaka (Gaṇeśa) is honoured first, allowing Śiva’s grace and the intended rite or outcome to proceed without disruption.
In temple and household practice aligned with Purāṇic injunctions, worship begins with Vināyaka so that the subsequent Saguna Śiva/Liṅga worship becomes steady and unobstructed, reflecting the principle that right preliminaries support fruitful Śiva-upāsanā.
Perform Vināyaka pūjā first—offer a simple invocation, flowers, and naivedya—then proceed to Śiva worship (e.g., abhiṣeka and japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with fewer impediments.
