संध्याचरित्रवर्णनम् (Sandhyā-caritra-varṇanam) — “Narration of Sandhyā’s Austerity and Encounter with Śiva”
यद्यद्वृतं त्वया भद्रे दत्तं तदखिलं मया । सुप्रसन्नेन तपसा तव संध्ये वरेण हि
yadyadvṛtaṃ tvayā bhadre dattaṃ tadakhilaṃ mayā | suprasannena tapasā tava saṃdhye vareṇa hi
「吉祥なる者よ、汝が選び取ったいかなる恩寵も、われは余すところなく授けた。全き静謐のうちに修した汝のタパスと、聖なるサンディヤーの力、そしてそれに結ばれた賜物によってである。」
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: General boon-granting theology: tapas + Śiva’s prasāda culminate in iṣṭa-siddhi; no specific Jyotirliṅga is invoked.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: liberating
Cosmic Event: Sandhyā as a ‘junction-power’ (saṃdhyā-bala) supporting siddhi is implied.
The verse highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta principle that Shiva, as Pati (the Lord), responds to sincere tapas and devotion with grace (prasāda), granting what the devotee seeks when it aligns with dharma and inner purity.
It reflects Saguna Shiva’s accessible, compassionate lordship—Shiva personally bestows fruits of worship and austerity. In Linga-worship too, the devotee approaches the visible symbol of Shiva and receives Shiva’s grace through disciplined practice and prayer.
Sandhyā-time worship with steady tapas—regular twilight prayer, mantra-japa (such as the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and disciplined devotion—emphasizing serenity and consistency as the basis for receiving Shiva’s blessings.
