संध्याचरित्रवर्णनम् (Sandhyā-caritra-varṇana) — “Account of Sandhyā’s Story”
सूत उवाच । इत्याकर्ण्य वचस्तस्य ब्रह्मणो मुनिसत्तमः । स मुदोवाच संस्मृत्य शंकरं प्रीतमानसः
sūta uvāca | ityākarṇya vacastasya brahmaṇo munisattamaḥ | sa mudovāca saṃsmṛtya śaṃkaraṃ prītamānasaḥ
スータは語った。かくしてブラフマーの言葉を聞き終えると、最勝の聖仙は、愛に満ちて心喜び、シャンカラ(シヴァ)を想起して、歓喜のうちに語り始めた。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: teaching
It highlights śiva-smaraṇa—remembering Śaṅkara with a pleased heart—as a devotional act that purifies the mind and prepares the seeker to receive and transmit sacred teaching.
By naming Śaṅkara and emphasizing heartfelt remembrance, the verse points to Saguna devotion—approaching Shiva as the compassionate Lord who can be remembered, praised, and worshipped, including through Liṅga-upāsanā.
A simple practice is japa and smaraṇa: mentally recollect Śiva (Śaṅkara) with devotion—ideally alongside the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—before study, recitation, or worship.
