The verse highlights dependence on higher powers for the success of sacred action, yet it also foreshadows how ritual greatness without humility and devotion to Pati (Shiva) can become spiritually incomplete.
By seeking ‘pramāṇa’ (sanction) for a yajña, the verse points to the need for divine approval; in Shaiva understanding, the highest sanction is Shiva’s grace, often approached through Saguna worship such as Linga-pūjā rather than ritual prestige alone.
It implies performing rites with proper authorization and reverence; as a Shaiva takeaway, accompany any ritual with humble japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and an attitude of surrender, seeking Shiva’s anugraha (grace) for siddhi.
