It marks the karmic turning-point where Daksha’s worldly authority and ritual power enter the scene; in Shaiva understanding, such power is secondary to surrender to Pati (Shiva), and the narrative prepares the lesson that pride in status cannot override divine grace.
Daksha’s arrival foreshadows the later tension between mere external ritualism and true reverence for Saguna Shiva (manifest Lord) symbolized by Linga-worship—devotion grounded in humility rather than social rank.
The takeaway is to approach Shiva’s worship with inner purity and humility—supporting practices like japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and reverent observance of Shiva-puja rather than pride in ritual position.
