सती-शिवचरित्रप्रसङ्गः / The Account of Satī and Śiva’s Divine Conduct
Prelude to Detailed Narrative
पूर्णकामो वराधीनं प्राणमत्स्म मुदा हरः । रामं भ्रमन्तं विपिने सलक्ष्मणमुदारधीः
pūrṇakāmo varādhīnaṃ prāṇamatsma mudā haraḥ | rāmaṃ bhramantaṃ vipine salakṣmaṇamudāradhīḥ
常に満ち足り給うハラ神(シヴァ)であっても、歓喜に動かされ、自らの授けた恩寵に従って、恭しく頭を垂れて礼拝した。心高き主は、森をさまようラーマがラクシュマナと共にいるのを見給うた。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It shows Shiva’s līlā: though intrinsically pūrṇakāma (complete and desireless), He adopts the posture of devotion and humility, teaching that true greatness expresses itself as reverence and dharma.
The verse highlights Saguna Shiva—Hara acting in a personal, relational way. Such narratives support devotional worship (including Linga worship) where the Lord responds through līlā while remaining the supreme Pati beyond limitation.
Practice humble bhakti: offer namaskāra to Shiva daily, recite the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), and meditate on Shiva as both transcendent (nirguṇa) and graciously personal (saguṇa).
