The verse affirms that Śiva’s sacred history is both “auspicious” and “wondrous,” implying that attentive hearing (śravaṇa) of Śiva-kathā purifies the mind and supports the soul’s movement toward Śiva (Pati) in a Shaiva Siddhanta sense.
By praising the “auspicious deeds of Śiva,” the verse points to Saguna Śiva—Śiva known through divine attributes and narratives—whose grace is approached through devotion, temple worship, and Linga-upāsanā supported by śravaṇa and smaraṇa.
The immediate practice implied is śravaṇa (devout listening) and manana (reflection) on Śiva-kathā; as a Shaiva takeaway, this can be paired with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to internalize the auspicious meaning.
