おおシャンブよ、サティーのこの真実の誓願(祈り)によって、天衆と人々とを等しく守護し給え。さらに輪廻(サンサーラ)を旅する者たちに、常に吉祥なる安寧を授け給え。
Satī (Pārvatī in her Satī-incarnation), addressing Lord Śiva (Śambhu)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
It presents Śiva as Śambhu—the ever-benevolent Lord who grants rakṣā (protection) and maṅgala (auspicious welfare) to beings moving through saṃsāra, highlighting Shaiva devotion where divine grace safeguards and uplifts the virtuous.
The verse addresses Śiva personally as Śambhu (Saguna Shiva), the approachable Lord who answers prayers. In Linga-worship, devotees similarly seek Śiva’s protective grace and continual auspiciousness through daily pūjā, abhiṣeka, and remembrance.
A practical takeaway is to pray for universal welfare (sarva-maṅgala) while repeating Śiva’s name/mantra (e.g., the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and offering simple worship, cultivating truthfulness (satya) and saintly conduct (satām) as the inner support of the prayer.
