It highlights daiva (divine ordination) and sankalpa (resolved intent): Sati’s destiny is aligned with Shiva, indicating that sacred union serves the cosmic purpose and the soul’s movement toward the Lord (Pati) beyond worldly calculations.
By accepting Shiva as the rightful recipient of Sati, the narrative affirms Saguna Shiva as the personal Lord worthy of relationship, devotion, and surrender—foundational attitudes that later mature into Linga-worship as a stable, reverent focus for bhakti.
The takeaway is sankalpa with devotion: perform japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while contemplating surrender to Shiva’s will, offering one’s intentions as service rather than ego-driven desire.
